Terms of Service
These are the rules for using ThreadSpot. They cover what the service does, what you pay, what you are allowed to do with the drafts it writes, and what happens if something goes wrong.
Last updated 18 September 2026
This document is a careful draft, not legal advice, and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have one read it before you rely on it. Items in square brackets still need to be filled in.
The short version
The full terms are below and they are the ones that count. This summary is here so you know what you are agreeing to before you read the detail.
- ThreadSpot finds public threads, scores them, and writes draft replies. It never posts anything anywhere.
- You post from your own account, in your own words, and you are responsible for what you post.
- A run costs $3 and is charged before the run starts. Monthly plans renew automatically until you cancel.
- We do not promise leads, rankings, sales or any specific result. Presence, not placement.
- Using drafts to spam, astroturf or impersonate anyone is not allowed and will get your account closed.
- These terms are governed by Indian law. If you are a consumer, your local consumer rights still stand.
Who these terms are between
ThreadSpot is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS], India. In these terms, "we", "us" and "ThreadSpot" mean that company. "You" means the person or company using the service.
You agree to these terms when you create an account, pay for a run, or start a subscription, whichever happens first. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company or a client, you confirm you are allowed to do that, and "you" then means that company.
You need to be at least 18 years old to use ThreadSpot.
What the service does
You give ThreadSpot a website. It reads that site to understand what the business sells and who it sells to. It then searches public threads on Reddit, Quora and LinkedIn, scores each thread for how relevant it is to you, explains the score, and writes a draft reply you can use.
What you get back is research and writing. It is a starting point for you to check, edit and use as you see fit. Nothing more is implied.
ThreadSpot cannot post on your behalf
This is the most important thing to understand about the service, so it gets its own section.
ThreadSpot has no write access to Reddit, Quora, LinkedIn or any other platform. It is built to read public content and produce text for you. There is no part of the product that can publish.
This is not a restricted permission, and it is not a setting that is switched off for now and could be turned on quietly. As the product stands, ThreadSpot has no publishing capability at all. If we ever built one, it would be a different product with different terms, and we would tell you before it existed.
- We never ask for your Reddit, Quora or LinkedIn passwords, and we do not want them.
- We do not request or hold write permissions, posting scopes or publishing tokens on any platform.
- ThreadSpot does not post, comment, reply, vote, react, follow, send direct messages or schedule anything.
- There is no queue that publishes later, and no setting that turns posting on.
- Everything that appears under your name on any platform was posted by you or by someone with access to your account, not by us.
- If anyone tells you ThreadSpot can post for you, they are wrong. Write to us at support@threadspot.in and we will confirm it in writing.
Your account
You need an account to run scans and see results. One account belongs to one person or one company, and the person who created it is responsible for everything done through it.
Give us accurate details when you sign up, and keep them current. Your email address is how we send receipts, notices and anything important, so it needs to be one you actually read.
Keep your login credentials safe. If you think someone else has got into your account, tell us at support@threadspot.in as soon as you can and we will help you lock it down. Until you tell us, activity on your account counts as yours.
If you share access to your account with colleagues, everything done on it is treated as done by you, and you remain responsible for keeping the credentials safe. We do not offer separate seats or per user logins yet, so anyone with your login can see everything in your account.
What you may use ThreadSpot for
You may use ThreadSpot for any website you own or are authorised to represent, including client websites if you are an agency or a freelancer.
We claim no rights over the drafts ThreadSpot writes for you. You can edit them, post them, use them in other channels, share them with a client, or ignore them entirely. We do not charge extra for any of that. The limits on what you may do with the drafts are in the acceptable use section below, and the point about copyright is in the section on your data and your content.
What you must not do
ThreadSpot exists to help you say something useful in a thread where you genuinely have something to add. Using it for the opposite is a breach of these terms.
You must not:
- Spam. Do not mass post the same or barely changed drafts across many threads, subreddits or communities.
- Astroturf. Do not use fake, purchased, aged or borrowed accounts, do not coordinate several accounts to make a brand look popular, and do not hide a commercial relationship when you have one.
- Impersonate. Do not post as a customer, a neutral bystander, a competitor, an employee you are not, or any real person or organisation without their permission.
- Break platform rules. Reddit, Quora and LinkedIn each have their own terms, content policies and community rules, and many communities have rules on top of that. You must follow all of them when you post. ThreadSpot drafting a reply is not permission to post where self promotion is banned.
- Manipulate rankings or votes. Do not buy upvotes, arrange vote rings, or use bots to amplify anything you post.
- Post anything unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, misleading or in breach of someone else's intellectual property.
- Make claims about your product in a draft that you cannot back up, including claims we generated for you. You are responsible for checking them.
- Use ThreadSpot for a website you have no right to represent, or to research or target a specific individual.
- Resell, sublicense or rebrand ThreadSpot itself as your own tool, or scrape our output to build a competing dataset or product. Reselling the results of work you do for a client is fine. Reselling access to the product is not.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the limits of the service, or use automated means to extract data from it.
You are responsible for what you post
Every draft ThreadSpot writes is a suggestion. The moment you copy it into a platform and hit post, it is your content, published by you, from your account, under your name.
That means you carry the consequences. If a moderator removes your comment, if a community bans you, if a platform suspends your account, or if someone objects to something you said, that is between you and them. We cannot appeal it, reverse it or intervene on your behalf.
Read every draft before you use it. Check the facts, check the claims, check the tone against the rules of the community you are posting in, and change anything that does not fit. If the draft would be your only contribution and it is really just a link, do not post it.
Paying for a run
A single run costs $3. You pay for it before it starts, and the charge is taken at that moment. There is no subscription attached to a one off run, nothing starts renewing afterwards, and a one off run does not set up a stored payment method for future charges.
Prices are shown in US dollars. Taxes, currency conversion fees and any charges your bank or card issuer adds are on top and are your responsibility. Tax treatment, and the currency Indian customers are billed in, are set out at [CURRENCY AND TAX TREATMENT].
Payments are handled by our payment processor, [PAYMENT PROCESSOR NAME]. ThreadSpot does not store your card details.
Once a run has finished, the results stay in your account for as long as your account is open, and you can export them at any time. Our retention periods, including what happens after you close your account, are set out in the privacy policy.
If a run fails because of a fault on our side, or finishes and finds nothing at all, tell us and you can choose a free rerun or a refund. The full rules are on our refunds page.
Monthly plans
Plans are $39, $159 and $459 a month. Each one includes a set number of runs, communities, queries, keywords and drafted replies. What is included is listed on the pricing page and forms part of these terms.
Plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically on the same date each month until you cancel. To make that possible, our payment processor stores your payment method securely for future charges. ThreadSpot does not store your card details.
- You can cancel any time from your billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then.
- We do not charge a cancellation fee and we do not ask you why.
- Unused runs and drafted replies do not carry into the next month. Your allowance resets on each renewal date.
- If a payment fails, we retry it over the following 7 days and email you. If it is still unpaid after that, we pause the plan until it is settled.
- If we change plan prices, we will email you at least [PRICE CHANGE NOTICE PERIOD] before the change applies to you, and never less than the 14 days we give for other material changes. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for. If you do not want the new price, cancel before it takes effect.
- Your results and past runs stay available to you while your account is open, including after you cancel a plan, subject to the retention periods in the privacy policy.
Refunds
Our refund policy is on the refunds page and it applies as if it were written out here. In short: if a run fails on our side, or completes and finds nothing at all, you choose a full refund or a free rerun. Anything else we look at case by case. As a rule we do not pro-rate a part used month, and the exceptions are listed on the refunds page and in the places in these terms where we say we will refund the unused part of a period.
If you believe you have been charged in error, email billing@threadspot.in before raising a chargeback with your bank. It is faster, and a chargeback raised without contacting us first may lead to the account being suspended while it is resolved.
No guarantee of leads, rankings or results
We do not promise that ThreadSpot will get you customers, traffic, signups, replies, upvotes or sales. We do not promise a specific number of threads, or that any threads worth replying to exist for your site in a given week. Some runs turn up a lot. Some turn up very little. That depends on your market, not on how hard the tool works.
We make no claim about search rankings, either on the platforms we search or on any search engine. What ThreadSpot does is help you be present in conversations where your product is relevant. Presence, not placement.
Scores are our opinion of relevance, generated automatically. They can be wrong. Drafts are generated automatically too, and they can contain mistakes, including confident sounding statements that are not accurate. Treat both as a first pass by a fast assistant, not as verified fact.
Nothing ThreadSpot produces is legal, financial, tax or regulatory advice, and nothing in it has been reviewed by a professional adviser on your behalf.
Platforms we search are not our partners
Reddit, Quora and LinkedIn are independent companies. We are not affiliated with them, endorsed by them, or acting for them, and their names are used here only to say what ThreadSpot reads.
Those platforms control their own content and access. They can change what is public, change their rules, or block access at any time. If that happens, coverage of that platform may be reduced, delayed or stopped, and we may have to change or remove parts of the service. We will tell you if that affects what you are paying for.
Your data and your content
How we collect, use and store personal data is set out in our privacy policy. Please read it, because it is part of the deal between us.
You keep ownership of your website, your brand and anything you write. By using ThreadSpot you give us permission to process what you submit, such as your URL, keywords, communities and settings, for the purpose of running the service for you. That permission ends when you delete the data or close your account, except where we have to keep records for legal or accounting reasons, or where copies remain in backups until those backups are cycled out.
We claim no rights over the drafts ThreadSpot writes for you. You are free to use, edit and publish them commercially, with no further payment or credit to us. Because drafts are generated by an AI model, we cannot promise that any given draft attracts copyright protection, or that similar text has not been produced for someone else. Check anything you publish.
We use aggregated usage information, such as how many runs are started and which features are used, to improve the product. We do not use it in a form that identifies you, your customers or your clients, and we do not sell your data. If the business is sold or reorganised, your data may move to the buyer as part of that, on the same terms, as described in the privacy policy.
What belongs to us
The ThreadSpot software, the scoring approach, the interface, the documentation, the name and the logo belong to us. Using the service does not transfer any of that to you.
You may not copy the product, resell access to it, or present it as your own tool. You are welcome to tell clients you use ThreadSpot.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep ThreadSpot running, but we do not offer a guaranteed uptime level unless we have agreed one with you in writing. The service may be unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons outside our control, including outages at the platforms we read or at our own suppliers.
We improve and change the product regularly. Most changes are additions. If we remove or materially reduce something you are paying for, we will email you before it happens, and if the change leaves you with less than you bought, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of your current period. That is an exception to the usual no pro-rata rule on the refunds page.
Suspension and closing accounts
We can suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms, particularly the acceptable use section, if payment is overdue, if we are dealing with fraud or a payment dispute, or if we are required to by law.
Where we can, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. For serious cases, such as coordinated fake accounts, impersonation, or activity that puts our access to a platform at risk, we may act immediately.
If we close your account for a breach, we do not refund runs already delivered. If we close or suspend your account for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of anything you have paid for. That is another exception to the usual no pro-rata rule on the refunds page.
You can close your account whenever you like. Tell us and we will confirm it. After closure we delete or anonymise your data as described in the privacy policy, which sets out the retention period at [DATA RETENTION PERIOD AFTER CLOSURE]. Export anything you want to keep before you close the account.
Limits on what we are liable for
ThreadSpot is provided as it is. We do not give warranties beyond what the law requires of us. That includes any implied warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose.
We are not liable for losses that follow indirectly from using the service. That includes lost profits, lost revenue, lost business opportunities, lost or corrupted data, wasted staff time, or damage to your reputation.
We are not liable for what happens on a third party platform as a result of something you post, including removals, bans, suspensions, shadowbans, or complaints from other users or from the platform itself.
Where we are liable, our total liability to you for all claims arising in any 12 month period is limited to the total amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose, or [MINIMUM LIABILITY FLOOR], whichever is higher.
To the extent Indian law does not allow them to be limited, nothing here limits liability for fraud, for wilful misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be contracted out of.
If you are using ThreadSpot for business purposes and someone brings a claim against us because of something you posted, or because you broke these terms or a platform rule, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses in dealing with it. This does not apply where you are using ThreadSpot as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes or the law requires. The date at the top always shows when they were last changed.
For minor changes, such as wording or contact details, we update the page. For changes that materially affect your rights, your costs or what you are allowed to do, we will email you at least 14 days before they take effect. That is the same notice period as the refunds page.
If you keep using ThreadSpot after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree with a change, cancel before it takes effect and we will refund the unused part of your current period. That is an exception to the usual no pro-rata rule on the refunds page.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [CITY FOR JURISDICTION], India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of ThreadSpot. If you are a consumer, this does not remove any right you have to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, where the law gives you that right.
Before anyone goes near a court, please email us at support@threadspot.in and set out the problem. We will reply and try to settle it within 30 days. Most things are a misunderstanding about billing or scope and are sorted out in a day or two.
Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under Indian law that cannot be contracted out of.
Other things worth knowing
A few standard points, in plain words.
- These terms, together with the privacy policy, the refund policy and the plan details on the pricing page, are the whole agreement between us. Anything said in a sales email or a chat that contradicts them does not override them unless we confirm it in writing.
- If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your account or these terms to someone else without our written agreement. We may transfer them if our business is sold or reorganised, and your rights stay the same if we do.
- Notices from us come by email to the address on your account, and are treated as received on the day they are sent unless we are told the delivery failed. Notices to us go to the addresses in the next section.
- These terms are written in English. If we publish a translation and the two disagree, the English version applies.
How to contact us
General and support questions: support@threadspot.in. Billing, invoices and refunds: billing@threadspot.in. Privacy questions: privacy@threadspot.in.
Postal address: [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], India.
Grievance Officer for India: [GRIEVANCE OFFICER NAME], [GRIEVANCE OFFICER EMAIL]. If you have raised something with support and are not satisfied, that is the next step.
We read our own email. A real person will reply.
Still to confirm before this is final
Anything in square brackets above is a real detail that has not been filled in yet. This list is published deliberately so nobody mistakes the document for finished.
- [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]: the registered company or firm name that operates threadspot.in
- [REGISTERED ADDRESS]: full registered address in India
- [CITY FOR JURISDICTION]: the city whose courts have jurisdiction, normally where the business is registered
- [GRIEVANCE OFFICER NAME] and [GRIEVANCE OFFICER EMAIL]: required for India under the IT Rules; confirm with a lawyer whether ThreadSpot must appoint one
- [PAYMENT PROCESSOR NAME]: the actual processor used at checkout. Do not publish a name you have not verified. The same name must appear on the refunds page
- [CURRENCY AND TAX TREATMENT]: confirm with your accountant and payment processor whether Indian customers must be charged in INR, and whether GST applies to domestic and export sales. If Indian customers are billed in rupees, replace the placeholder with a line saying so, for example: prices are shown in US dollars, and customers billed in India are charged in Indian rupees at checkout, including GST where it applies. Keep it consistent with the tax and currency section of the refunds page
- [PRICE CHANGE NOTICE PERIOD]: notice given before a plan price change applies, for example 30 days. It must be 14 days or more, because the terms now say a price change never gets less notice than a material change to the terms
- [DATA RETENTION PERIOD AFTER CLOSURE]: how long data is kept after an account is closed, must match the privacy policy exactly
- [MINIMUM LIABILITY FLOOR]: the floor figure in the liability cap, for example USD 100. A lawyer should confirm the whole liability clause is enforceable under Indian law
- Last updated date: set the date shown at the top of the page whenever the text changes
- Support email addresses used here (support@, billing@, privacy@ threadspot.in): confirm all three are live and monitored before publishing
- 7 day failed payment retry window: this is a hard number in both these terms and the refunds page. Confirm the billing system actually retries over 7 days before publishing either
- 14 day notice for material changes to these terms: matches the refunds page, and is now also the floor for price change notice. If one changes, change all three
- No rollover of unused runs and drafted replies: this is stated as a firm rule here and on the refunds page. Confirm it is the product decision you want, and change both pages together if not
- Pricing page correction needed: the pricing page currently says no card is kept on file. That cannot be true for auto renewing monthly plans. Reword it to match these terms, that the payment processor stores the payment method for renewals and ThreadSpot does not store card details
- Privacy policy addition needed: add aggregated usage information for product improvement to the what we collect and why section, so the purpose is not stated only here
- Privacy policy check: the terms now say data can move to a buyer if the business is sold or reorganised. Confirm the privacy policy says the same thing
- Refunds page check: the terms now flag three exceptions to the no pro-rata rule (service reduced, terms changed, account suspended or closed through no fault of yours). Confirm the refunds page lists the same three
- Zero result runs: the terms now offer a refund or a free rerun when a run completes and finds nothing. Confirm support can tell a zero result run from a failed one before publishing
- Consumer protection: have a lawyer confirm compliance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020 and any mandatory disclosure of seller details, refund timelines and grievance redressal
- Minimum age of 18: confirm this is the age you want to enforce and that signup reflects it
